Program Note
Tonight the Huddersfield Experimental Laptop Orchestra (HELO) will perform, To Follow (M. Bostock) and Human Shredders(S. Hewitt).
To Follow is a fusion of gaming laptop culture and the sonic practice of the laptop players both individually and as an ensemble.
Human Shredders is a combination of human and computer coding. The human performers are placed within a restricted performance environment where there contribution is limited to that allowed by the coded environment.
HELO is, Tom Andrews, Matt Bostock, Dale Gardner, Daniel Nuttall and Philip Ramsbottom. HELO is part of the Huddersfield University undergraduate course and is directed by Scott Hewitt.
